New Mexico Film Office Announces Secretary Barbara Damron will be the Keynote Speaker at its Film & Media Education Summit

Santa Fe, N.M. – The New Mexico Film Office announced today that Dr. Barbara Damron, New Mexico Cabinet Secretary of Higher Education will be the Keynote Speaker at its annual Film & Media Education Summit on February 10th, from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at the Santa Fe Hotel Hacienda and Spa, 1501 Paseo de Peralta, Santa Fe, NM 87501.

“We are pleased to have Secretary Damron taking time out of her schedule to come speak to our film and Media educators,” said Nick Maniatis, Director of the New Mexico Film Office.” The film & media programs offered here in New Mexico are flourishing and we want to encourage and assist in their continued growth in any way that we can.”

The Summit discussions will focus on Dual Credit and Articulation led by Bridgette Noonan (HED) and Workforce Economic Development led by Lisa Lucas (NMFO) and Grubb Graebner (CNM). All film and media educators are encouraged to attend.

The mission of this event is to stimulate communication and coordination between New Mexico’s film and media industry and secondary and higher education institutions, thus, establishing a well-defined educational environment that offers cutting edge training for today’s competitive industry. The Film Office invites administrators, educators, guidance counselors and advisors from the secondary and higher education levels to attend.
