Santa Fe Community College Awarded Contracts for Youth Workforce Development Program

Contracts awarded in partnership with International Center for Appropriate and Sustainable Technology and the U.S. Economic Development Administration

SANTA FE, NM – Santa Fe Community College has been awarded a pair of contracts by the International Center for Appropriate and Sustainable Technology (I-CAST) in partnership with the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) to develop and deliver energy efficiency and solar training for a Youth Workforce Development Program.

The first contract of $90,000 will establish a program to help disadvantaged youth from low-income communities across Colorado and Utah. A second contract for $105,000 is designated for youth in New Mexico and Texas. SFCC’s EnergySmart Academy will train the instructors of the programs in the various communities and provide online training tools and resources. The program will begin in April.
