The two-day annual Golden Spike Track and Field Classic was perfect for Miguel Coca.

The West Las Vegas senior was able to run all three of his specialties, the 800, the 1,600, the 3,200, and he won all three.

“Oh yeah,” he said at the meet at Santa Fe High, “it was either that or I’d run one day and practice the next, so this was perfect to instead do two days, and I even felt fine on the day two.”

On day on, he ran the 3.200, on day it was 800 and 1,600 time. He won all three handily, the 3,200 in 10:17.84, the 800 in 2:02.08, and the 1,600 in 4:31.55.  No telling what his times would have been if he had more competition, but was it was his pace throughout that left others runners way behind.
