Albuquerque Bosque Charter School won three of the events, bu host St. Michael’s girls won the rest in Thursday’s 3-school track and field get together at the Christian Brothers Athletic Conference.
District opponent West Las Vegas was the other school, but the Dons had to settle for a few second-place finishes. There were five relays and the Lady Horsemen swept them, the 4 x 100 in 54:04, the 2 x 200 in 1:56.64, the 4 x 400 in 4:41.24, the 4 x 800 in 12:21.04, and the sprint medley relay in 4:52.74.
A pair of wins went to senior Olivia Farrar as she raced first in the 200 in 29.74, and the 400 in 1:06.04, and added the long jump with a best of 15-04. Second was freshman Jada Lujan, and she was also the runner-up in the 300 hurdles, but won the high jump by going up and over in 5-02.
Farrar also passed the stick on two of the relays, as did 8th-grader Raylee Hunt who handily led the field behind in claiming the 3,200 in the time of 11:58.94, with Bosque sophomore Ella Adams second in 13:14.44 while winning the 1,600 in 6:20.74.
The other two victories for the Bobcats came from freshman Stella Hautau as she clocked 2:42.94 in the 800 and freshman teammate Maya Kronberg took the shot put by throwing 26-03.
A three-event first place went to St. Michael’s sophomore Jackie Gorman. She traveled the 100 hurdles in 17:54 and also the longer 300 hurdles in 51:54. Added to this was the triple jump she won with a best of 33-02. Freshman Rebekah Bagwell dashed the 100 meters in 14:34 ahead of sophomore Grace Sandoval, who sped 14:54.
In the discus, it was junior Claire Patten winning at 73-11, and in the javelin, it was freshman Ceciliana Roiz number one with a heave of 49-05.
