By Arnie Leshin
Played at the Johnson gymnasium, the Braves advanced to 11-1 and on a 4-game win streak after a loss versus Gallup. Their size advantage and defense helped open up a 26-11 lead at halftime, and increased it with a 15-8 run in the fourth quarter.
While the Chiefs dropped to 5-3, Indian School again took charge behind its balanced attack, with 5-9 senior forward Cameron Connors turning in 10 points, eight of which came in the first half. Also coming away with 10 points for the Braves was 5-9 senior guard Taryan Aguillan and 5-7 freshman
wing Emma Lewis.
Navajo Prep is currently 8-3 and the defending state 3A champion, and the title game is scheduled for 6:30.
