SANTA FE HIGH AT RIO RANCHO CLEVELAND

By Arnie Leshin
The Santa Fe High girls soccer team literally ran into a roadblock when it arrived for the non-district match at Rio Rancho Cleveland on Monday afternoon.
The end result was just another triumph for the undefeated (and tied) Storm, No. 1 in 3A and No. 2 in the overall state, as it hung a 4-0 zero on the Demonettes, scoring once in the first and three times in the second half to up its overall record to 11-0-1, to tally 67 goals, yield only eight, and win its eighth in a row.
It has also played two overtimes and a pair of one-goal matches. The team’s leading scorer, sophomore Sienno Salazar, who plays midfield and forward, scored twice this time and added an assist, to bring her total goals to 27, and she upped her point lead to 34.
Salazar scored the lone first half goal and one in the second half when she also gave out an assist. Junior Ella Lent-Aout, who plays defense and midfielder, tallied one goal and one assist, and the other goal came from senior Adrianna Berceras.
Storm senior goalkeeper Brooke Keene came away with eight saves and recorded her sixth shutout.
The 1-1 tie came at Albuquerque Academy in non-district
