No Sales at SFNF Headquarters until the New Year

There will be no sales at the Santa Fe National Forest Headquarters Dec. 12, 2022, to Jan. 9, 2023, due to a brief staffing shortage. The SFNF Headquarters, located at 11 Forest Lane in Santa Fe, will still be open to answer questions and assist visitors with other issues.

Recent staff departures have reduced the number of designated collection officers authorized to accept payment for fuelwood permits, maps, America the Beautiful interagency passes and other Forest Service products. Those products are still available for purchase at our district offices in Pecos, Las Vegas, Española, Cuba, Coyote, and Jemez Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Personal-use fuelwood permits for 2022 expire on Dec. 31. The 2023 fuelwood permits will not be available until spring of next year. Christmas tree permits are also available online at Recreation.govuntil Dec. 31.

If you plan to visit the SFNF, know before you go and “Be Outdoor Safe.” Check the weather forecast and be prepared for winter conditions. Use good judgement and basic safety precautions.
