United States women’s doubles team reach Semifinals

Gaining the women’s doubles semifinals Wednesday at the annual Roland Garros Clay Court Tennis Championships in Paris was the No. 2 United States pair of Jessica Pegula and Coco Gauff.
They ousted the duo of Belgium’s Greet Minnen and Hungary’s Anna Bondar, 6-2, 7-6 (2) in the quarters, and will next play the No. 6 team of American Nicole Melichar Martinez and Ellen Perez of Australia, which eliminated Sara Sorribes Tormo of Spain and Marie Bouzkova of Czech Republic, 7-5, 6-3. 
 
In men’s doubles, the No. 4 team of the USA’s Austin Krajicek and 
Croatia’s Ivan Dodig advanced to the semifinals by upending No. 11 Germany’s Kevin Krawitz and Tim Puetz, 7-6 (6), 5-7, 6-4. 
 
In the men’s quarterfinals singles, No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz of Spain got past No. 5 Stefanos Tstipase of Greece, 6-2, 6-1, 7-6 (5), and No. 3 Noval Djokovic of Serbia took out No. 11 Karen Khachann of Russia, 4-6, 7-6 (0), 6-2, 6-4. 
 
The overall purse is $23,115,000.
