All but the contest in Hawaii are slated as 5 o’clock starts, with Hawaii set to kick off at 9.

On Saturday it’s No. 2 Michigan home to East Carolina and a 36-point favorite, No. 3 Ohio State the pick by 30 and a half at Indiana, No. 4 Alabama hosting Middle Tennessee as a 39 and a half choice, No. 6 is Southern California favored by 39 and a half over visiting Nevada, No. 7 is Penn State, at home and a 20 and a half pick over West Virginia, and No. 11 Texas welcomes Rice as a 35 and a half choice.

At the No. 12 spot is Tennessee playing host to Virginia as a 29-point favorite, there’s No. 19 Wisconsin picked by 27 over visiting Buffalo, No. 20 Oklahoma is the home side favored by 36 over Arkansas State, No. 21 North Carolina at Charlotte, N.C., versus South Carolina and a 3-point underdog, No. 23 Texas A & M, picked by 39 over visiting New Mexico, and Utah State a 26-point underdog at No. 25 Iowa.

These are all opening weekend games, so go figure. There could be favorable finals, there could be surprises, upsets.

On Sunday, Rutgers is home to Northwestern as a 7-point favorite, San Jose State is a 16 and one-half pick over visiting Oregon State, and Louisiana State is a 2 and one-half point underdog at Florida State in one of the weekend highlight games.

On Monday, it’s Duke picked by 12 and one-half over the visitors from Clemson.

Happy Labor Day weekend, happy days and nights on the college gridiron.
