The estimated Powerball® jackpot for the Wednesday, October 11, 2023, draw is $1.725 billion.
This is the 2nd largest Powerball jackpot in U.S. lottery history. The only other jackpot that ranks higher was the $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot on November 7, 2022.
New Mexico Lottery CEO David Barden reminds players, “While a jackpot this large is incredibly exciting, please remember to play responsibly.”
Players are also reminded to check their tickets after the draw for non-jackpot prizes. Non-jackpot prizes range from $4 to $1 million that can be multiplied if the player purchased Power Play®.
If the jackpot is hit in New Mexico, it will be the sixthtime the Powerball jackpot has been won in New Mexico. It would also be the largest jackpot won in New Mexico.
New Mexico Lottery players have until 8:00 p.m. MT on Wednesday to buy tickets for the October 11th Powerball draw.
How to Play Powerball
Powerball tickets are $2 per play. Tickets are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. More than half of all proceeds from the sale of a Powerball ticket remain in the jurisdiction where the ticket was sold. Drawings are broadcast live from the Florida Lottery draw studio in Tallahassee. Powerball drawings are also live streamed online at Powerball.com.
On June 25, 2023, the New Mexico Lottery introduced an add-on feature for the game, Powerball Double Play®. For an additional $1 per play, players have a chance to match their Powerball numbers in a second drawing for a chance to win up to $10 million. This drawing occurs after the regular Powerball draw on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.
