Celebrate Earth Day on the Santa Fe National Forest

We invite the public to celebrate Earth Day by participating in the Earth Day River and Road Cleanup event on April 20th, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Participants will meet at Our Lady of Guadalupe Abbey, located at 16 Guadalupe Ln, Pecos, N.M.

87552. Continuing the tradition, the cleanup will follow a drive-by format, offering a safe and efficient way for volunteers to contribute to the cause.

In an unprecedented collaborative effort, the Upper Pecos Watershed Association, Pecos Business Association, Pecos Canyon State Park, Santa Fe National Forest, Truchas Chapter Trout Unlimited, and San Miguel County have united to lead this event. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to the importance of community involvement in environmental conservation of the Pecos Watershed.

This event is an opportunity for individuals to make a tangible impact on the environment and foster a healthier, cleaner future for our community. We warmly invite everyone to join us in this meaningful endeavor. Whether you’re a long-time advocate for environmental causes or looking to get involved for the first time, your participation will contribute significantly to the conservation efforts for the Pecos River.

For additional information or to express your interest in participating, please contact Magda Matecka at 505-757-3600 or via email at upwa@pecoswatershed.org. We are grateful for your support and enthusiasm as we come together to make a positive difference. Let’s make this year’s Earth Day a memorable and impactful one!
