“His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’”
Matthew 25:23
In the Pararble of the Talents, we are shown three different servants. They were each given a different amount of talents to steward for their master. (The word talent in this particular passage is an amount of money.) Two of the servants put their given talents to work, so to speak, while the third servant burried his.
To the servants that were good stewards of the master’s talents, he said to them the verse from above: “…’Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things; I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’” However, to the third servant that burried the talent, the master had some fairly harsh words.
While the third servant’s intentions may have been good—to protect or not to lose his master’s talent—we find that what he really wanted his servant to do was to invest or trade them to gain more.
This Roar Newsletter is certainly not for financial advice but rather for the talents you were entrusted with from our Master.
Not so much the financial term of ‘talent’ used in the parable from Matthew 25; although donations are always needed and encouraged, but so are your skills, gifts, or maybe even your influence.
Santa Fe Christian is elated to share that we are growing quickly! With that, we need more teachers! We are incredibly thankful for the faculty and staff we have retained! As well as our new Administrative Assistant and First Grade Teacher! They have so courageously stepped out in faith to invest their talents with Santa Fe Christian and its students.
Esther 4:12–14 also comes to mind. We see Mordecai encouraging his cousin, Queen Esther, to stand up on behalf of the Jews when they were being threatened with their lives. It reads, “…“Do not think that because you are in the king’s house, you alone of all the Jews will escape. For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”
There have been and are countless prayers specifically for those of you who are considering using your talent for teaching at SFC. We are praying that you will not burry it, hide it, or let the opportunity pass you by. That you too will step out in faith and in the promise that His talents invested wisely will have an eternal reward. For such a time as this!
