Three Israeli Civilians Hurt as Israel-Lebanon Talks Kick Off

A Hezbollah drone attack wounded three civilians in the Rosh Hanikra area of northern Israel, two of them seriously. According to The Times of Israel, a parking lot near the border was struck without any sirens or warning. The Galilee Medical Center is treating the two critically injured victims. The incident comes as talks between Israel and Lebanon begin today in Washington.

The drone was one of several projectiles that Hezbollah launched at Israel and at IDF troops stationed in southern Lebanon on Thursday, including an anti-tank guided missile and several mortars that exploded near soldiers in the late morning. No injuries were caused as a result of those strikes.

Several other drones launched by the group were intercepted by IDF air defense systems, the army said.

Meanwhile, the IDF said it launched a wave of airstrikes on Hezbollah infrastructure sites in southern Lebanon, after it issued evacuation warnings for eight villages in the area.

Residents of Libbaya, Sohmor, Tefahta, Kfar Melki, Yohmor al-Beqaa, Ain al-Tineh, Houmine al-Faouqa and Mazraat Sinay were instructed to evacuate at least a kilometer away.

The talks in Washington are expected to focus on the disarmament of the Iran-backed terror group. They mark the highest-level discussions in the third round of negotiations since the ceasefires with Iran and Lebanon began. Israeli officials are expected to present Lebanese representatives with a step-by-step framework for Hezbollah’s disarmament.

Israeli Ambassador to the United States Yechiel Leiter has also stressed to President Donald Trump that ongoing talks with Iran should include an agreement requiring the regime to end support for its regional terror proxies, including Hezbollah. The third round of talks in Washington is expected to continue over the next two days.

During this critical time of dialogue, The Fellowship and its supporters pray for Israel and the United States in these negotiations, that their efforts may help bring an end to the latest violence and terror.
