RTD Blue Bus 255 Mountain Trail Winter Service Begins December 5 COVID Safe Operations in Place This Season

By RTD

The North Central Regional Transit District’s (NCRTD) RTD Blue Bus 255 Mountain Trail routefrom Downtown Santa Fe to Ski Santa Fe will switch to Winter service on Saturday, December 5, to coincide with the open of Ski Santa Fe.

As changes are occurring at the ski basin, so too on the Mountain Trail bus. COVID Safe operations will be in place as the District remains committed to the health and safety of its riders and transit operators.

All seats will have to be reserved in advance by calling 505-629-4725 ext. 2. Only those who have reserved a seat will be allowed to board. Seating will be limited to four passengers to provide social distancing and groups of no more than five (the transit operator accounts for one). Face coverings are mandatory and must remain on for the duration of the trip.  To avoid contact with fare boxes, service will be fare-free and as a result no Ski Santa Fe discount token will be provided.

The NCRTD continues to take aggressive measures to clean and disinfect passenger vehicles daily.

The 255 Mountain Trail Winter service provides seven round trips on weekends and three roundtrips Monday through Friday. Winter service on the route coincides with the open and close of Ski Santa Fe and provides reduced service to hikers, bicyclists and sightseers throughout the remainder of the year.

The North Central Regional Transit District provides fare-free and premium fare public transit service to a service area that encompasses over 10,000 square miles of north central New Mexico including the counties of Taos, Los Alamos, Rio Arriba and Santa Fe; as well as the Pueblos of Pojoaque, Ohkay Owingeh, Nambé, San Ildefonso, Santa Clara, Tesuque, Taos, Picuris and the Jicarilla Apache Nation.
