God’s Encouraging Word of the day

“But forget all that—it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.”

Isaiah 43:18–19 (NLT)

Through the prophet Isaiah, God speaks a message that feels especially powerful at the start of a new year: forget what’s behind you.

That doesn’t mean the past didn’t matter. It doesn’t mean the pain wasn’t real or the memories weren’t significant. It means God doesn’t want yesterday to define what He’s about to do next.

Israel had a long story—miracles, failures, victories, and regrets. God acknowledges all of it, and then He says something striking: “Forget all that—it is nothing compared to what I am going to do.” In other words, what lies ahead matters more than what’s already happened.

This is a fresh start kind of promise.

God says He is doing something new—not someday, not eventually, but already in motion. Even if it can’t be seen yet. Even if it doesn’t feel obvious. God declares that He is creating paths where there were none before and bringing life to places that felt dry, empty, or stuck.

That’s what makes this verse so fitting for a brand-new year. It reminds us that God is not finished, not paused, and not limited by our past. He is moving forward, and He invites us to do the same—not by pretending the past didn’t exist, but by refusing to live there.

A new year isn’t just a calendar change.

It’s an invitation to lift your eyes and trust that God is already doing something new.

God Bless You & Happy New Year
