The perfect storm at Zozobra left some people gloomy.

By Santa Fe Kiwanis

We the Kiwanis Club of Santa Fe apologize that the perfect storm at Zozobra left some people gloomy. The number one priority for the event was safety and all decisions were made with that one element in mind. Based on the information that a second storm was moving in, with the potential for lightning, wind and precipitation, the measured decision was made to start the show early. This compounded the slow check-in process related to backpacks.

The Kiwanis Cub of Santa Fe’s Board of Directors will be meeting on Sunday morning to provide a path forward for those who were left out in the storm. The Kiwanis Club of Santa Fe values our community, and we will create a process where we will make those people whole, either though complimentary tickets to next year’s event, a poster of this year’s event, or a refund.

Rumors that we over sold the event or reached capacity are blatantly untrue.

We will release the details of his process on Tuesday since Monday is a holiday.

Thank you for your understanding, and we promise you that Zozobra will not leave you burned
