SFNF Waives Recreation Fees for Presidents’ Day; SFNF Offices Closed for Federal Holiday

By SFNF

All Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) offices will be closed on Monday, Feb. 21, for the federal holiday. Virtual business hours will resume on Tuesday, Feb. 22.

The Forest Service participates in fee-free days with other federal agencies to encourage Americans to enjoy and visit their public lands. The SFNF will waive fees at many day-use recreation sites on Monday, Feb. 21, to celebrate Presidents’ Day. Since many recreation sites are closed for the winter, visitors are encouraged to check the status of sitesonline or contact the appropriate ranger district office ahead of time to determine which sites are open.

If you plan to visit the SFNF over the weekend, check the weather forecast, be prepared for winter weather conditions, and know before you go. For public health and safety, please follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance and comply with state public health orders to protect yourself and others from COVID-19.

Remaining fee-free days for 2022 are:
